US President Donald Trump questioned the existence of global warming amid a strong snowstorm that hit several states over the weekend. The statement came after reports from the US National Weather Service of record frost and snowfall affecting more than 200 million people in the country. American media reported this news.

“What happened to global warming?” – Trump said at a campaign rally in Des Moines, Iowa, broadcast by Fox News. His words were quoted by RIA Novosti.

The storm brought heavy snowfall, hurricane-force winds and cold snaps to the Central and Eastern United States, according to the National Weather Service. In some areas, highways were closed, thousands of flights were canceled and widespread power outages were reported. Authorities in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and several other territories reported a total of at least 34 deaths due to accidents, frostbite and incidents related to power outages.
It was previously reported that Russia was also affected by severe frost. The thermometer dropped to -30 degrees, and in some areas much lower. Experts predict this year's winter is likely to become a record winter in the last century.
