Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has confirmed that the US will reduce tariffs on Indian products to 18%.

The politician announced the deal on social networks X.
“I am delighted that our products will now enjoy reduced customs duties. On behalf of 1.4 billion Indians, thank you very much to President Trump for this wonderful announcement,” he wrote.
Mr. Modi emphasized that cooperation between “the world's two largest democracies” will benefit the people of the United States and India. He also expressed support for Trump's peace aspirations.
Previously, Mr. Trump talked about Prime Minister Modi's promise that India would stop importing Russian oil. Modi also agreed to significantly increase oil purchases from the US and possibly Venezuela in exchange for lower tariffs.
