Apple's new flagship smartphones have become popular around the world thanks to their updated design. About this report Financial Times (FT).

In the fall of 2025, Apple introduced the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, which have a new back design, an aluminum body and in an orange color version. Analysts at International Data Corporation (IDC) say that Apple has successfully chosen the color scheme of the device – largely because of this, they have become popular in the market and especially in China.
The publication's journalists noticed that videos of orange iPhones have been circulating on Chinese social media since the device launched in September.
“It sounds simple, but it was the obvious changes to the exterior design, including the addition of a vibrant orange color, that attracted early adopters to upgrade their devices,” said Nabila Popal, senior research director at IDC.
FT notes that in Chinese, the word “cam” is pronounced similarly to the word “success.” The document says that many social media posts about the iPhone contain wishes based on this linguistic connection.
Apple previously reported revenue in China of $26 billion in its fiscal first quarter. This is 38% higher than a year earlier.
At the end of January, Counterpoint Research researchers announced that the American corporation Apple had regained the leading position in the Chinese smartphone market. At the end of the fourth quarter of 2025, Apple accounted for 21.8% of sales – it was a confident leader in the region.
