SpaceX plans to build autonomous cities on the Moon and Mars in the coming decades. American businessman Elon Musk reported this on the social network X. According to him, the company's experts have focused on implementing a similar project on the Earth satellite – the results can be achieved in less than 10 years.

“SpaceX will also look to build a city on Mars and will start doing so in about 5 to 7 years,” Musk wrote.
The businessman noted that flights to Mars will only be possible during the period when the planets in the solar system properly converge – every 26 months. The duration of the journey will be six months. In turn, rockets to the Moon could be launched every 10 days with a flight time of two days.
The founder of SpaceX emphasized that it is for this reason that the construction of a city there will be carried out much faster than on Mars. He estimates that it will take more than 20 years to create the latter. Previously, Elon Musk said that it was time to return to the moon on a large scale. So he commented on the publication, which noted that 66 years had passed from the first flight until the landing on the Moon.
