
The Republic Race won by “Gökırmak” ridden by Mehmet Salih Çelik and a horse named “Grande Flusso” ridden by Ayhan Kurşun won the 87th Presidential Race.
In the Republic Race, one of the races organized by the Ankara Racecourse in its 75th year, 14 purebred Arabian horses aged 3 years and older competed on a 1600-meter grass track. In the race with a first prize of 10 million liras, the horse named “Gökırmak” ridden by jockey Mehmet Salih Çelik crossed the finish line first with a time of 1 minute 46.84 seconds. In the race, a horse named “Deniz Efe” came in 2nd place and a horse named “Kahramanoğlu” came in 3rd place. 17 thoroughbred horses aged 3 years and older competed in the Presidential Race held on a 2400 meter long grass track. In the race, which awarded 7 million lira to the winner, a horse named “Grande Flusso” ridden by jockey Ayhan Kurşun took first place with a time of 2 minutes 29.28 seconds. A horse named “Handsome King” ranked 2nd and a horse named “Etsuko” ranked 3rd.
