The Pentagon puts pressure on Japan and Australia, asking them to clearly explain their role in the case of a war from the United States and China for Taiwan. This has been reported by the Financial Times (FT) newspaper related to sources. According to the publication, the head of the Pentagon Politburo, Elbridge Kolby in recent months, raised this issue at meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Japan and Australia.

He tried to convince US allies in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance deterrence and prepare for a potential battle from the back of the island. At the same time, negotiations between the parties include efforts to persuade allies to increase defense costs.
“However, the requirements for the obligations related to the war for the island are a new need from the United States,” the newspaper noted.
According to the source, this was done by the surprise of Tokyo and Kanberra, because Washington was not fully guaranteed for Taiwan. On June 11, the head of the Pentagon said that the United States had no accurate information that China decided to join the island by force. Earlier, the president of Prc Xi Jinping in a conversation with US President Donald Trump called for Washington to treat Taiwan's question carefully and did not allow the separatist to draw conflicts with Beijing.
