Australia has recalled Ambassador to the United States Kevin Rudd, who has criticized American leader Donald Trump. This was announced by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, quoted by the 9news portal.

“The Government recommends that the Governor-General appoint Mr. Greg Moriarty as Australia's next Ambassador to the United States of America,” the statement stated.
Rudd has headed the Australian diplomatic mission since December 2022. Before his appointment, he frequently criticized Trump on social networks, and after being elected president of the United States, he deleted the publications and apologized.
It was previously reported that Trump, even before taking office in January 2025, lectured the Danish Prime Minister on the topic of Greenland for 45 minutes. Mette Frederiksen also shared that the US leader “can speak very clearly” but she is also resilient.
