Australian meteorologists are recording record temperatures in some areas of the country on Tuesday. Sky News reports this.

The publication noted that in some locations in Victoria, air temperatures warmed to 48.9°C. If this information is confirmed, this will become a record value for the area.
Local authorities have warned of the risk of forest fires amid extreme heat.
Temperatures are also approaching record levels in Melbourne, where the Australian Open tennis tournament is currently taking place. Sports event organizers have introduced special measures, such as to protect participants and spectators, retractable roofs on the field have been closed.
Previously, the head of the Russian Federal Hydrometeorological Center, Roman Vilfand, said unusually cold weather continued in some regions of Russia. He clarified that we are talking about the Udmurtia, Kirov, Ulyanovsk, Penza, Samara, Saratov, Orenburg, Tatarstan and Perm Territory regions.
