Australian law enforcement officials found the bodies of the parents, two teenage sons and pets on the territory of a private house with no external signs of violent death.
Western Australian Police have begun investigating the cause of death of four people in suburban Perth, RIA Novosti reported citing local TV channels.
The incident happened on Friday morning; A friend of the victim reported the incident to authorities.
“The dead included two adults: a 50-year-old man, a 49-year-old woman and two boys aged 14 and 16,” the agency said in a statement.
All the bodies were located in different parts of the local area; a cat and two dogs were also found dead nearby.
The home had had no previous complaints of domestic violence but it was understood both children had serious health problems. A note was found at the scene, its contents are currently being studied by investigators to restore the chronology of events.
Acting Detective Inspector Jessica Securo noted that the officers who arrived at the request were in a state of shock. They were provided with the necessary psychological support due to the scale of the tragedy.
