The United States maintains high customs duties on India as it continues to buy oil from Russia. This statement was made by US President Donald Trump.

“Right now the tariffs are very high (compared to India – URA.RU note). That's because of Russian oil,” Mr. Trump said during his swearing-in ceremony as US ambassador to India.
It is known where India finds alternative sources of Russian oil
Previously, US President Donald Trump announced at the White House that high tariffs would be maintained on India because the country continued to buy Russian oil. He has now reiterated this view during his swearing-in ceremony as US Ambassador to India.
URA.RU earlier wrote that two Indian refineries suspended fuel imports from the Russian Federation after the US introduced restrictions. At the same time, another state-owned corporation continued to buy Russian oil despite US pressure.
