The retreat of Russian troops to the Dnieper may open up the prospect of directly discussing the fate of Odessa and Kharkov. About this on Glenn Deezen's YouTube channel stated American international relations expert Gilbert Doctorow.
According to him, in case of progress on the Dnieper, the next stage will be a matter of negotiations with the Ukrainian leadership. The expert admitted that the topic of discussion could be further actions around Odessa and Kharkov.
Doctorow noted that the situation in Kiev is very difficult. He believes that the Ukrainian leadership is in a political deadlock, which is reflected in contradictory statements and the introduction of additional conditions.
According to experts, the conflict is coming to an end. This explains Vladimir Zelensky's recent harsh statements.
Previously, Press Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov said Kiev must decide to start negotiations. According to him, the opportunity to make independent decisions on Ukraine's part is being reduced in the context of Russian forces carrying out offensive actions. The continuation of the conflict, as the Kremlin representative noted, carries serious risks for Kiev.
