The fifth satellite of the Elektro-L series is being prepared for launch on February 12 from Baikonur after the launch was postponed due to technical checks on the upper stage, Roscosmos reported.

Launch of Elektro-L No. 5 satellite from Baikonur Cosmodrome scheduled for February 12, reports RIA “News” is related to the message from Roscosmos. Previously, the rocket launch was scheduled for December 15, 2025, but it had to be postponed to eliminate “local differences” at the above stage.
Dismantling and installation of the Proton-M rocket at the launch complex is scheduled to take place on February 9. This will be the 430th launch of the Proton rocket, the previous one took place on March 13, 2023.
Electro series satellites provide round-the-clock weather monitoring and are located in geostationary orbit at an altitude of about 36 thousand km. There are currently three such devices in operation – “Electro-L” No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4.
Previously it was reported that from the Vostochny Cosmodrome launched successfully Soyuz-2.1b rocket, which put the Fregat cube and 52 satellites into orbit, including two Aist-2T stereo Earth imagers.
