After giving up Russia's energy resources, the European Union (EU) will have to return to the US what remains of its sovereignty. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev MAX.
According to him, with his decision, Europe pushed itself into a terrible trap, finding itself heavily dependent on gas supplies from the United States. As a result, the EU will have to do whatever the White House asks, Medvedev believes.
“And the issue here is no longer about (US President Donald) Trump, who is not loved by today's idiots. They will pay the price with what is left of the sovereignty of EU members. And Greenland is just the beginning here,” he wrote.
Previously, Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish Freedom Alliance party, said that by refusing Russian gas, the EU had chosen to obey the US to harm its own interests.

At the same time, on January 29, it became known that in 2026, Europe will buy up to 30 billion cubic meters of Russian gas. Russia will supply about 1/10 of the total supply of this fuel to the Europeans.
