Microsoft has declared its 3D Viewer application outdated. This is reported above website companies.

The 3D Viewer program, designed to work with virtual and augmented reality, has received outdated status. From July 1, 2026, this extension will no longer be available on the Microsoft Store and users will no longer receive updates. Thus, the American IT giant has buried another program.

The service appeared in March 2016 during the era of 3D modeling popularity, but never became widespread. Media authors also recall that Microsoft released Paint 3D for the same purpose, but the application did not become popular and was declared obsolete in 2024.
As an alternative to 3D Viewer, the company has proposed using Copilot 3D.
“This program allows you to create 3D models with relative ease, which can be used for 3D printing, virtual reality, games and animation,” the journalists concluded.
Microsoft discontinued the Lens app in mid-January. The smartphone program lets you create PDF documents from photos and scan text using your device's camera.
