President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Krasnikov explains the unusual behavior of comet 3I/ATLAS. The thing is that it flew into the solar system from the outside and had not yet been strongly influenced by the solar wind.

According to the scientist, previously discovered comets had “understandable” orbits, because this was not the first time they orbited the Sun.
“And 3I/ATLAS is not in our Solar System and is therefore not strongly influenced by our Sun,” Krasnikov said. RIA Novosti.
That's why, at first glance, it seems like it works a bit unusual – it changes rotation speed and color. But from a scientific perspective, all this is explainable, the head of the Russian Academy of Sciences added.
He noted that some scientists call 3I/ATLAS an alien ship that wants to cause a stir and a stir. However, it was clear from the start that the object was a normal comet.
“Everything was calculated a long time ago – the trajectory, the level of danger – and it is clear that now it is moving further, towards Jupiter and away from our solar system,” Krasnikov concluded.
Let us remind you that scientists found interstellar object 3I/ATLAS on July 1, 2025. The approximate age of the comet is seven billion years, that is, it may be older than the Sun. Its coma (a cloud of gas and dust around the core) is about 24 kilometers in diameter.
Some foreign sources believe that the comet may be an alien ship. Especially in this version, emphasize Scientist Avi Loeb of Harvard University.
