Moscow gave an atypical signal in response to the US plan to build a new traffic artery in the South Caucasus. We are talking about Russia's readiness to consider participating in an American infrastructure project, Hungarian publication Világgazdaság reports.

As journalists note, the United States previously announced the launch of an initiative called the Trump Roadmap for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP). The project is expected to create road, rail and oil and gas infrastructure between Armenia and Azerbaijan along a railway line that passes near the border with Iran, reports ABN24.
In America, people talk about “big mistakes” because of Russia
According to Hungarian observers, Russia's reaction to this initiative was unexpected. Russian Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zakharova said Moscow is ready to consider the possibility of participating in the project, but emphasized that a decision can only be made after a detailed study of all parameters and conditions.
Világgazdaság points out that this is no ordinary investment. The possibility of Russia participating in a project initiated by the United States seems atypical given the current context of Russian-American relations.
Hungary noted that the fact of such a statement could be considered a signal. If the parties can reach an agreement, this could lead to serious changes in the transport structure of the South Caucasus and a reallocation of influence in the region.
European analysts, whose opinions were quoted by the publication, believe that Moscow may seek to compensate for the weakening of its position in the region by participating in a large-scale infrastructure project promoted by Washington.
