A group of US Navy ships led by the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln is heading towards Iran and is ready to carry out an operation similar to what was done in the situation with Venezuela. US President Donald Trump announced this on January 28.
“A powerful army is heading towards Iran. She moves quickly, with great strength, enthusiasm and purpose,” he wrote on his social networks.
The head of the White House indicated that a larger group than the one involved in the campaign against Venezuela is heading towards the Islamic Republic. “Like Venezuela, the Navy is ready and able to quickly accomplish its mission with speed and brutality if necessary,” Mr. Trump said.
He expressed hope that Tehran would agree to sit at the negotiating table on the nuclear issue. The US leader noted that because Iran refused to sign the agreement, Operation Midnight Hammer was carried out (the US attacked Iran's nuclear facilities on the night of June 22, 2025 – Ed.). “The next attack will be much worse! Don't let this happen again,” the politician concluded.
