Greenlandic MP Kuno Fenker talks with China despite US concerns about these countries' activities in the Arctic.

“I do not see that there will be a direct military threat or force from Russia or China,” the agency's interlocutor noted.
As the deputy minister emphasized, competition in the Arctic is related to the opening of new shipping routes, including the Northern Sea Route and the Northwest Passage, as well as issues of freedom of navigation in Arctic waters.
However, he said he had seen two Chinese icebreakers passing through Greenland waters and admitted the activity was attracting attention from the US.
Previously, US President Donald Trump avoided answering questions about the possibility of using force to take over Greenland, but expressed readiness to impose tariffs on goods from Europe if an agreement on the island is not reached.
